Psychological First Aid (PFA) is about taking care of yourself – your thoughts, feelings and emotions when you have experienced stress, crisis or trauma – and then being there for family, friends and community when they are having difficulty coping.

Learn how to anticipate stress and crisis whenever possible and equip yourself with the skillset to practice self-care and to provide care for others during particularly challenging times. Unlike mental health first aid, which trains people to help someone during a mental health emergency, Red Cross Psychological First Aid teaches you how to build up resiliency to stress and establish coping strategies for stress and trauma.

An excellent course for supervisors & managers and anyone who works in high-risk situations.

Untrained workers often do not fully understand the possible dangers of working in a confined space.

Being knowledgeable about what a confined space is and what is required while working in them is the only defence against a serious incident or worse, a fatality.

While a Confined Space Awareness course is satisfactory for a worker to enter a Confined Space, there must be available someone trained in Confined Space Rescue to meet OHS Regulations.

Confined space entry rescues can only be performed by persons trained in confined space work methods and equipment.

A certificate is issued upon successful completion of the course.

The Confined Space Rescue course provides a more detailed analysis of what to do in case of emergency, how to prepare workers for the confined space environment, and a hands-on demonstration of some rescue equipment.

Confined space entry rescues should be performed by persons trained in confined space work methods and equipment. A person readily available who has completed a Confined Space Rescue course is required in order to enter any confined space.

*A confined space rescue person should also have First Aid/CPR Level II training.

A certificate is issued upon successful completion of the course.

If machinery could unexpectedly activate or if the unexpected release of an energy source could cause injury, the energy source must be isolated and controlled.

This is done through a lockout procedure. Lockout is one of three safe work procedures that Workplace Safety Legislation requires an employer to develop.

Lockout systems are not only used when dealing with electricity, but also for hydraulic, pneumatic, steam and other systems.

Employee training in your company’s lockout system is essential.

Upon the successful completion of the program, workers will be qualified to develop a company approved lockout procedure.

Tagout is no longer enough to meet Regulation, though it is still recommended to tag equipment to notify workers of potential hazards.
